Boat Diver Specialty
If you’re new to boat diving or want to learn more about diving from different types of boats, enroll in the Boat Diver course.
During two dives with an instructor you’ll learn nautical terminology, boat diving etiquette and may practice using lines and/or deploy a surface marker buoy (SMB).

- Understand boat terminology
Course Equipment Requirements
Each student will be responsible for providing the following gear:
- BCD
- Regulator
- Dive Computer
- Mask, Fins, Snorkel, Etc.
- Exposure protection (if needed)
Required Specialty Equipment:
- Surface Marker Buoy
We have rental gear available for an additional cost.
When enrolled in a course with Space Coast Dive Center you will receive a 10% student discount on all gear purchases.

Open Water Diver certification
All students must be medical fit to dive. Please reach out to the Dive Center for the most up to date version of the diver medical form.
How do I get Started?
You’ll make two dives from a boat where you’ll practice entering and exiting the water and properly stowing your gear. Your instructor will also teach you about local boat diving etiquette and safety procedures.
